MA in Political Science, Specialization in National Security Studies

Admission Requirements and Prerequisites

  • An undergraduate degree in political sciences from an accredited university in Israel or abroad, diploma and transcript with a minimum of 3.0 GPA, 80% (Israeli system) or equivalent .
  • Candidates with an undergraduate degree in history or social sciences are also eligible and will be required to complete two introductory courses before the first semester of the program:
    1. Introduction to International Relations
    2. Introduction to Government and Politics
  • TOEFL scores (if native language is not English or candidates have not previously studied at an institution of higher education where the language of instruction is English). A minimum of 570 (paper-based test); 230 (computer-based test) or 89 (internet-based test)  
  • Curriculum Vitae/Résumé
  • Two recommendations from relevant academic faculty members
  • Copy of valid passport & six passport-sized photos
  • Medical forms

Under certain exceptional circumstances, the committee may be willing to consider applicants who do not meet the minimal admissions requirements. Such applicants may submit a request for special consideration explaining why they believe their application merits consideration despite their not meeting the minimum requirements. The request must be submitted in writing and approved by the committee before a full application is submitted. The committee will not review applications not meeting the requirements unless a request for special consideration has been approved.
